BMW on Thursday launched two new bikes BMW F 900 R and BMW F 900 XR in India. The F 900 R is available only in the standard variant, priced at Rs 9.90 lakh. The F 900 XR has been launched in two variants, Standard and Pro, priced at Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 11.50 lakh respectively. Both these bikes will be introduced as CBU (complete built-up unit i.e. fully built). Booking for new bikes has started today i.e. from May 21.
The BMW F 900 R is a naked sport and BMW F 900 XR adventure sports tourer bike. Both the motorcycles have an engine of 895cc. This engine generates 105 hp power at 8,500 rpm and 92 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is equipped with a 6-speed transmission.
These great BMW bikes can accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 3.6 seconds. Their top speed is more than 200 kilometers per hour.
Standard variants of both bikes feature standard features like two riding modes (road and rain), traction control, 6.5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth and LED headlights. The F 900 XR Pro model will get features like cruise control, bi-directional quick-shifter and dynamic ESA. Feature options such as cornering lights, key-laced ignition and pro riding modes are given. These features can be taken as an option with the F 900 R, for which additional money will have to be paid.
Talking about safety, both bikes feature standard features like ABS, automatic stability control, anti-hopping clutch and cast aluminum wheels.
They will compete with
In the Indian market, the BMW F 900 R will compete with bikes like the KTM 790 Duke, Kawasaki Z900, Ducati Monster 821 and the soon-to-be-launched Triumph Street Triple R. At the same time, there is no other bike in the Indian market to compete directly with the BMW F 900 XR, but it will compete with the Kawasaki Versys 1000 in terms of price.
