Honda has unveiled its much awaited car in the Indian market with the new Honda City. Apart from releasing the official images of the 2020 Honda City, the company has also shared several major details including the car’s features, engine and mileage. The new Honda City will come in both petrol and diesel engine options. Let us tell you about the new-gen Honda City in detail.
Lighter and safer than before
The new-generation Honda City is based on the new platform, which makes it lighter and more secure than the older model. The new city is 4,549mm long, 1748mm wide, 1489mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. The new Honda City is 109mm longer and 53mm wider than the older model, while the height is 6mm shorter. The boot capacity of the new city is 506 liters.
The new BS6 compliant 1.5-liter petrol engine will be available in New Generation City, which generates 121hp power and 145Nm torque. It will have 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT automatic gearbox options.
The diesel engine of the new city is derived from the old model. This BS6 compliant 1.5-liter diesel engine generates 100hp power and 200Nm torque. The engine is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is no option of automatic gearbox with diesel engine.
How much mileage will you get?
The mileage of the new Honda City petrol engine is 17.8 kmpl with manual gearbox and 18.4 kmpl with automatic gearbox. The diesel engine mileage is 24.1 kilometers per liter. These mileage figures are according to ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India).
Equipped with great features
The new city is equipped with great features. It has an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and weblink capability. It features Honda Connect Telematics system with Alexa remote capability and 32 connected car features. The new city is the first car in India to come with Alexa remote capability. Other than this, the new car will have a 7.0-inch MID, electric sunroof, LED headlamps and taillamps, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, auto-dimming IRVM (inside rear view mirror), paddle shifters (in CVT variants only), rear sunshade, Features such as ambient lighting, push-button start / stop with keyless entry, remote engine start and hands-free boot release will be available.
Speaking of safety, the new Honda City gets 6-airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, vehicle stability assist, ease handling assist, hill start assist, tire pressure monitoring system, Honda lane watch camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts, rear parking Features such as camera and auto headlamps and wipers are provided.
When will it be launched?
Along with other details including engine, features and mileage, Honda has also informed about the new city launching line. The new Honda City will be launched in July, i.e. its price will be announced next month.
