Mahindra & Mahindra is set to bring many new cars. The launch of most of these cars has been delayed due to the outbreak of the Corona virus. Mahindra will launch two of its much awaited SUVs, the new Mahindra XUV500 and the new Scorpio next year. However, this year the company is about to launch its two Dhansu SUVs in the Indian market. Let us tell you about both these SUVs.
The new Mahindra Thar has been waiting for a long time. The new-generation Thar will launch in October. There will be major changes in its look and cabin compared to the old model. The biggest change in this off-road SUV will be its engine. The new-generation Thar will get a new 2.0-liter mStallion turbocharged petrol engine and an upgraded 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 190bhp and 380Nm torque, while the diesel engine generates 140bhp power and 350Nm torque. The special thing is that there will be an option of automatic gearbox with both Thar engines.
Features in New-Generation Thar
Talking about some of the key features of the new Thar, it includes removable roof panels, optional factory-fitted hard top, LED DRL, touchscreen infotainment system, multi-information display, climate control, cruise control, rear disc brake and forward facing rear seats. Other features will be available.
The Mahindra’s second SUV to be launched this year is the XUV300 Sportz. It was displayed at the Auto Expo held in February. Earlier it was scheduled to be launched in April, but now it is expected to hit the market later this year. However, the company has not yet officially announced its launching timeline. It is a sportier and more powerful version of the standard XUV300. It will get a 1.2-liter mStallion turbo petrol engine, which gives power of 130bhp. Its power is 20bhp more than the standard petrol model.
Styling and interior changes too
Compared to the standard XUV300, the look of the XUV300 Sportz has been mildly changed. The Sportz ‘badging on the front doors is accompanied by new body graphics on the SUV and a red finish on the brake calipers. The contrast red stitching on the seats, red highlights on the dashboard and black interior theme make the XUV300 Sportz’s cabin different from the standard model.
