MG Motor India is launching its new SUV Hector Plus in July. Prior to launching, the company has listed this new SUV on its official website. Apart from this, Hector Plus has been spotted at the dealership stockyard, which shows that the company has also started dispatching this SUV before launching. Hector Plus was introduced at the Auto Expo in early February.
Different look from 5-seat Hector
MG Hector Plus is based on the company’s Hector SUV platform. However, there have been some cosmetic changes compared to Hector, which is mostly seen on the front of the SUV. The company has replaced the chrome border around the grille with a glossy black grille. Hector Plus will come with new LED day-time running lights and new headlamps. It will also get other changes including new front and rear bumpers, redesigned rear taillamps and revised skid plates.
Interior and features
The Hector Plus will get new Tan Fox leather upholstery, beige headliner and revised dashboard. It will have seats in three lines. Captain Seats will be found in the second line. This SUV will be available in 6 seater and 7 seater versions. It will get air vents, rear AC vents for third line passengers and adjustable headrests for all passengers. All the features of the Hector Plus are expected to be the same as the 5-seater Hector SUV. These include others including connected car technology and a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Hector Plus engines will be sourced from the Hector SUV. These include 2.0-liter diesel, 1.5-liter petrol and 1.5-liter mild-hybrid petrol engines. The 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard with all engines. The petrol model will also have a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
How much will cost
Hector Plus SUV will be MG Motor’s third car in India. It will be ranked above the 5-seat Hector SUV in the company’s product portfolio. It will cost a little more than Hector. The 5-seater Hector is priced between Rs 12.74 lakh and Rs 17.73 lakh.
