The wait for Honda’s much awaited car in the Indian market, the new Honda City (2020 Honda City) is about to end soon. The new Honda City will be launched in the country on 15 July. It will come in both petrol and diesel engine options. Booking has already started. New-Generation City can be booked from Honda’s website or dealership.
The new Honda City is based on the modified version of the existing platform. The company claims that it makes the car lighter and more secure than before. The look of the new car is also different from before. The new Honda City Alexa will be the first connected car in India to come with remote capability.
The new-generation Honda City has a BS6 compliant new 1.5-liter petrol engine, which generates 121hp of power and 145Nm of torque. It has 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT automatic gearbox options. Its mileage is 17.8 kmpl with manual gearbox and 18.4 kmpl with automatic gearbox.
The diesel model will get a 1.5-liter engine, which generates 100hp power and 200Nm torque. This engine is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is no option of automatic gearbox with diesel engine. Its mileage is 24.1 kilometers per liter.
Equipped with great features
The new Honda City is equipped with many great features. It features an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with one-touch electric sunroof, Android auto-Apple CarPlay and weblink capability, 7.0-inch MID, auto-dimming IRVM (inside rear view mirror), paddle shifters (in CVT variants only), Features such as rear sunshade, ambient lighting, push-button start / stop with keyless entry, remote engine start, LED headlamps and taillamps, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and hands-free boot release will be available. The new city features a next-generation Honda Connect with a telematics control unit, which offers over 32 connected car features. High-End Safety and Security Features
Honda has also introduced high-end safety and security features in the new city. It features safety features such as 6-airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, vehicle stability assist, ease handling assist, hill start assist, tire pressure monitoring system, Honda lane watch camera, rear parking camera and auto headlamps and wipers.
