BMW Motorrad launched the new BMW S 1000 XR Adventure sports-tourer bike in the Indian market. It costs Rs 20.90 lakh. Only one variant of the bike ‘Pro’ has been introduced in the Indian market. The BMW S 1000 XR Pro will be brought here as a CBU (Complete Built Unit). This new bike can be ordered through BMW Motorrad dealerships across the country.
The new BMW S 1000 XR has BS6 compliant 999cc, in-line, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This engine generates 165bhp of power at 11,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 9,250rpm. The engine is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike features slipper clutch and engine drag torque control.
The company claims that the new BMW S 1000 XR can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.3 seconds. The top speed of the bike is more than 200 km / h.
Riding Mode and Features
The new S 1000 XR has four riding modes – Rain, Road, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro. In Dynamic Pro mode, the rider can configure traction control, throttle response, ABS and wheelie control settings. The bike has a 6.5-inch full-color TFT display, from which all modes and settings of the bike can be operated. This motorcycle also has features like DTC, Hill Start Control and BMW Electronic Suspension Adjustment System.
The new BMW S 1000 XR weighs 226 kg (curb weight) and has a 20-liter fuel tank capacity. The seat height of the bike is 840mm. The new motorcycle is available in two color options – Ice Gray and Racing Red.
