For the safety of users, Google frequently removes malicious apps from the Play Store. Now the tech giant has removed 17 more dangerous apps from its platform. These 17 apps are affected by Joker malware. This Joker malware was discovered by Zscaler ThrearLabZ researcher.
The company’s research team said they found 17 different apps that contained malware. These apps were downloaded around 1 lakh 20 thousand times. These were messaging, photo editor and scanning apps. The company said the spyware was designed to steal messages, contact lists and phone information. This malware steals and forces users to sign-up for the premium wireless application protocol WAP service.
These apps were quickly removed by the Google team. It includes All Good PDF Scanner, Mint Leaf Message-Your Private Message, Unique Keyboard – Fancy Fonts & Free Emoticons, Tangram App Lock, Direct Messenger, Private SMS, One Sentence Translator – Multifunctional Translator, Style Photo Collage, Meticulous Scanner, Desire Translate, Talent Photo Editor – Blur focus, Care Message, Part Message, Paper Doc Scanner, Blue Scanner, Hummingbird PDF Converter – Photo to PDF and All Good PDF Scanner.
If your phone also has any of these apps, delete them immediately. Otherwise your private information may be stolen.
